Thandi, now 22 years of age was living in a local children’s’ home. She was eager to learn and displayed potential to achieve success, and was not going to let her circumstances hold her back. Her love for learning fuelled her desire to acquire a good education. She was adopted by the Gem Project as a community-sponsored beneficiary where the Gem Project supported her through her schooling and enabled her to receive further training and education.
As she was a bright student, she completed her formal schooling and obtained a matric-certificate. She is currently studying motor mechanical engineering at a College in Port Elizabeth. She is a Gem Youth Ambassador and Peer-supporter to the Gem Project Youth.
