Youth Work Readiness & Skills Mastery Programme

Vocational Skills & Work Readiness Mastery Programme

‘Transitioning unemployed challenged youth to enter the world of work’

The greatest challenge for youth entering the world of work is to be functionally skilled and mentally work-enabled and ready.  At the Gem Youth Academy, we offer a vocational work-readiness, life skills, job coaching and work placement programme for youth. This enables them to access entry-level jobs in the formal job market. The most suitable vocational skills and entry-level employment pathway is agreed upon with the learner based on the learner’s capabilities and abilities for successful job placement.

We do this by using alternative teaching methodology and empowerment approaches. The success of the dual model which combines alternative learning with experiential job shadowing opportunities is dependent on collaboration with businesses and industries as host companies and employment partners.

Become part of the solution to address youth unemployment by signing up as a host company or employment partner.

HOW DO WE DO THIS?

  1. Forging and building strong employment partnerships with local businesses, industries, corporates, SMME’s or NGO’s;
  2. Linking learners to experiential work, job-shadowing and job placement opportunities with our partners as host companies;
  3. Provide demand-driven work readiness training specific to the needs of our learners and employment partners;
  4. Enter into a tri-part T&D partnership with employment partners for skills development and diversity employment for youth school dropouts.
